Improving Montana's safety culture.

Community Outreach

MSF’s commitment to safety and to Montana is as high and wide as Montana’s Big Sky. In an effort to improve Montana’s high injury and fatality rates, and to promote a culture of civic goodwill, MSF is proud to be involved in Montana’s communities in several ways.

Assisting Charitable Endeavors (ACE) Grants & Scholarships

MSF ACE grants are awarded to worthwhile safety focused causes. To qualify, an applicant must be a Montana 501(c)3 non-profit with a safety focused project. The grants are up to $10,000 and the applicant must commit matching funds.

MSF also offers ACE scholarships for higher education to the dependents of the employees of MSF policyholders who are fatally injured on the job. These funds can be used to offset costs of attending a two or four-year college or university, another institution of secondary education or an approved program. Recipients are eligible to receive up to $2,000 per academic year. Funds are available for the award year plus up to three renewable years, with a maximum cumulative award of $8,000.

Kids' Chance

MSF is a proud sponsor of Kids’ Chance of Montana, a non-profit organization providing scholarships to the children of workers who are injured or killed on the job. To learn more about Kids’ Chance of Montana, visit kidschanceofmontana.org.

Legislative Efforts

As experts on workers’ compensation, MSF advocates on behalf of our policyholders and their workers each legislative session in Helena. The legislative sessions run 90 legislative days every odd numbered year, beginning in early January and typically concluding by early-May. To stay current on MSF’s most recent legislative efforts, subscribe to our legislative email alerts.

Safety Workshops

Workplace safety education should be accesible to all Montanans. That is why we host free quarterly safety workshops throughout the state.

WorkSafe Champions

WorkSafe Champions is an elite safety education program offered at no charge. Over the course of eight modules, participants will learn about workers’ compensation, how to motivate and train employees, manage an incident, more effectively return an injured employee to work, and much more.
